The National Nursing Centers Consortium (NNCC) was established in 1996, and is an organization of over 100 nurse-managed health centers across 30 states. All of the health centers are located in or near medically underserved areas in both urban and rural communities. The health centers are run by community-based non-profit organizations and university-based schools of nursing that provide primary care, health promotion and disease prevention programs. The mission of the NNCC is to strengthen the capacity, growth and development of nurse-managed health centers to provide quality health care services to vulnerable populations and to eliminate health disparities in underserved communities.
